About me

I guess I was always going to be an expat. My earliest ambition — plotted when I was about five years old — was to become a skiing instructor, clearly not the most obvious of career choices in a country as flat as the Netherlands.

Since then, I've worked, studied and lived in Austria, France, the United Kingdom and — for the past eight years — Australia, where I've swapped the mountains for a life by the sea.
These days, I'm a married mum of two. I work part time as a writer and generally spend the rest of my time with my hubby and our beautiful girls, exploring this beautiful country that never ceases to amaze and photographing just about everything that catches my eye.

Mamadownunder is a way to document this life, for family and friends on the other side of the world, and anyone else who would like to follow me on this journey.
